  1. Talk to the Yggdrasil Gatekeeper at (nyd_dun02 99, 199).
    • How to reach the gatekeeper:
    1. Enter Yggdrasil Dungeon at (spl_fld01 368, 112).
    2. Enter the portal located at 3 o'clock of the map (nyd_dun01 252, 144) (not shown on minimap). The portal markings on the minimap are exits only.

    3. Once in level 2, walk right until you've reached a cliff. Control the "Strange Device" at (nyd_dun02 137, 274), and cross the canyon by stepping on the circles. Stepping anywhere outside the shown circles will return you to the bottom right corner of the previous map. (Rogue-type classes can use Stealth. Be sure turn off Stealth when reaching the last circle to make sure the next circle appears.)

    4. After crossing the cliff, follow the path consisting of stairs and roots until you've arrived at a gate at (nyd_dun02 99, 199).
  2. Tell Commander Agip (mid_campin 90, 121) about the cave you found, he tells you to find Historian Magnifier.
  3. Ask Historian Magnifier (mid_camp 271, 299) for help. He tells you to visit his assistant in the Prontera library.

  4. In the west Prontera Library (prontera 120, 264), talk to Assistant Naomi (prt_in 171, 94), and she will give you several papers to read.
  5. Return to Magnifier, he tells you to go investigate what the Laphine and Sapha know. Chose to go to either the Laphine or Sapha.
    • Laphine:
    1. Talk to the Grumbling Soldier in the Splendide (splendide 198, 178), and ask him about the tree.
    2. Inside the central building (splendide 197, 191), speak to the Laphine Commander (spl_in01 110, 60).
    • Sapha:
    1. Inside the building in the far right of Manuk (309, 142), talk to the Laphine Prisoner (man_in01 291, 62).
    2. Talk to Neat Etorr (man_in01 311, 57) in the same building.
  6. Return to Magnifier, he tells you to speak to Commander Agip to get his opinion.
  7. Commander Agip decides to ask both tribes for help exploring the cave. This will force each to help you to prevent you from getting help from their enemy.
  8. You are presented with a choice of which tribe to go to in order to seek assistance.
    • Laphine Branch:
    1. Speak to the Laphine Commander, and threaten to ask the Sapha's help if she refuses hers. She will agree to help and ask you to talk to Aide Arioss.
    2. Aide Arioss (spl_in01 104, 56) will give you a token to mark you as a guardian of the yggdrasil and tell you the password to get past the door.
    • Sapha Branch:
    1. Return to the building in Manuk and talk to Neat Etorr again.
    2. Talk to the Laphine Prisoner twice.
  9. At this step you can now enter the Nidhoggur's Nest Instance. After you clear the instance, talk to Yggdrasiliad in the final room.
    • Note: The instance is very difficult and will require a strong party to complete.
    • Note 2: This quest can not currently be completed on iRO, the Yggdrasilid in the instance does not appear to set a needed quest variable.
  10. Chose if you want to go to Splendide or Manuk for your reward.
    • Splendide: Talk to the Laphine Commander, and then Arioss. You will receive 150,000 Base EXP, 3,500 Job EXP, and 10 Splendide Coins.
    • Manuk: Talk to Etol, and then with the Laphine Prisoner. You will receive 150,000 Base EXP, 3,500 Job EXP, and 10 Manuk Coins.

  1. With your Ring of the Ancient Wise King equipped, head toSplendide, village of the Laphine, one map West of spl_02 (near where the fairy npc stands from the Finding a Fairy quest).
  2. In the main village area, enter the first hut on the right side (splendide 228, 162 -> spl_in01 32,306). Arc (Guard Fairy) will stop you at first, but you can speak to him again and he will introduce himself. Offer to help him look for his friend. He tells you his friend frequently ties knots in weeds to leave a trail.
  3. Talk to the weeds outside the village (spl_fild02 44,214), they are knotted and point south.

  6. Talk to the footprints near (spl_fild02 328, 322), the footprints are headed north.

  7. Near (spl_fild01 343, 109) there are more footprints which lead to the root of a huge tree.

  8. Enter the Nidhoggur's Dungeon found below the Yggdrasil Tree just east (373, 110) of where the last footprints are found. (This is as far as you need to go in order to start the Guardian of Yggdrasil and Collecting Draco Eggs Quest).
  9. Inside the dungeon, click on the Petrified Sapha (nyd_dun01 57, 222) in the northwest corner.
  10. Walk north a few cells to (62, 232) and climb out of the dungeon.
  11. Return to Arc, he tells you Terra left with some bradium, after some discussion, you decide to head back to the Petrified Sapha.
  12. Return to the Petrified Sapha, after noticing bits of bradium ore scattered about, you decide to go visit the sapha.
  13. In Manuk, speak to the Villagers near (manuk 278, 177), they mention Terra's arrival in Manuk.
  14. Inside the building at (252, 110) speak to Snorren and offer to interpret for him.
  15. Speak to Snorren again, the guard on the other side of the door says Terra's wounds need to be treated first. Head back to Arc to find out how.
  16. Speak to Arc, he tells you that Yggdrasil Berries are the best way to cure a Laphine's wounds. He gives you 3 and tell you that you can get more at the root of the Yggdrasil Tree.
  17. Collect 1 Yggdrasil Berry from the fruit near (spl_fild01 356, 42).
  18. Collect another Yggdrasil Berry from the fruit near (spl_fild01 314, 78).
  19. Collect the last Yggdrasil Berry from the fruit near (spl_fild01 328, 26).
  20. Return to Snorren with the Berries. (Warning: If you have more than 6 Berries, he will take them ALL)
  21. After giving Snorren the Berries, enter the room behind him, Talk to the captured Laphine, she will tell you about the injured Sapha. Her captors are skeptical, and want to see proof to ensure they are not being led into a trap.
  22. Return the the Petrified Sapha. You will need to take something back with you, take his Muffler and the Bradium.
  23. Return to Snorren with the items, He recognizes that the bradium has not been properly refined and would not have helped Ogen. He also recognizes the muffler as Ogens. He asks you to lead him to the roots of the tree.
  24. Return to the Petrified Sapha, Snorren tells you Ogen is too far gone to be saved. His body can remain as a statue in his honor.
  25. Return to Snorren, he will reward you with 15 Manuk Coin.
  26. Return to Arc, he tells you to meet him at Terra's Yai (splendide 285, 139). Inside, talk to Terra.

  1. Speak to Schwartzvalt Mechanic (mid_camp 197, 237) outside the Alliance Headquarters. He tells you about the Ring of the Wise King, and asks you to speak to the Arunafeltz Linguist on the 2nd floor of the Alliance Headquarters.

  2. Inside, up the stairs, find the linguist in the room to the far right. He asks you to visit the Faerie and Giants out on the fields and remember every single word they say. These are from theFinding a Fairy quest.

  3. The Linguist isn't able to make any sense of the languages and refers you to the Rune Midgart's Magician.
  4. The Rune Midgart's Magician (mid_camp 147, 256), in the west half of the allied camp, says he needs to actually hear the languages being pronounced. He had some assassins bury gems near the villages to record the spoken languages, he would like you to go retrieve the gems.

  5. Talk to the Gem at (spl_fild02 26, 218), near the fairy, and attempt to dig it out. Several thief bugs will spawn, kill them. Repeat until you obtain a Red Jewel from it.
  6. Talk to the Gem at (man_fild03 227, 109), near the giant, and attempt to dig it out. Several thief bugs will spawn, kill them. Repeat until you obtain a Blue Jewel from it.
  7. Return to the Rune Midgart's Magician with the gemstones, he says he will extract the voices from the gems and send them to the Arunafeltz linguist.
  8. Return to the Arunafeltz linguist, He tells you that he has made amazing progress decoding the language. So much so that he's unsure how to even store all the data. He asks you to speak the Schwartzvalt Mechanic.
  9. The Schwartzvalt Mechanic says he needs some way to store the massive amount of data, and asks you to inquire with the Rune Midgart's Magician about a magical gem to hold the data.
  10. The Rune Midgart's Magician says he needs an Ore unlike any found in the old world to store the data. He asks you to go find one on the Manuk fields.
  11. Return to him with 1 Unidentified Mineral (obtained from Mysterious Rock, several of which can be found on all three Manuk maps). He asks you to wait a minute while he works his magic.
  12. Talk to the magician and he asks you to take the gem to the Schwartzvalt Mechanic.[Keep talking to him to get the gem]
  13. The Schwartzvalt Mechanic says it will take him at least an hour to complete a machine to translate using the gem. Return in 1 hour.
  14. Return to the mechanic and he will give you the Ring of the Wise Ancient King and some EXP.

  1. Inside the central building (mid_camp 215, 247) at the Midgard camp, talk to Hibba Agip who is on the north side of the table in the center (mid_campin 90, 114), he and Abidail discuss your accomplishments.
  2. Talk to Staff Officer Abidail at the east end of the table, accept his request. He tells you to talk to Commander Agip.
  3. Speak to Hibba Agip again, he gives you a document and asks you to speak to the messenger at at the dimensional gate.
  4. Find Expedition Messenger (mid_camp 206, 286), while you are discussing the report, someone sneaks up and attempts to take it. If you attempt to safeguard the report from the attacker, it will be easier later to re-assemble the report later.
  5. Return to Hibba Agip to inform him that the report has been destroyed. He tells you to go find the pieces of it.
  6. Staff Officer Abidail asks you to bring him pages of the report in increments of 10.
  7. Speak to any of the Expedition Scout on the New World field maps. Select the first option, asking for a progress report of the search for pages. The soldier will give you one of three responses: He found some pages (usually 1, 2, or 3), he is still searching and asks you to return later, or it is very difficult and he hasn't found any pages. Return every 30 minutes (15 minutes if you are playing on iRO) to check back with him. You CAN log out at a scout location and log back in to check for pages, time still passes when your character is logged out.
    • Pages can also be found randomly when killing monsters on the fields where soldiers are located. You will receive a notification that you found a report page every time one is found.

  8. After returning with 10 pages (or more, in increments of 10), Abidail will try to restore one of the four volumes of the report. Keep searching for pages until all the volumes are restored.
    • There is a very high chance that the pages brought do not form a single volume, or that they form a volume you already have. You will lose 10 pages and must collect more. (On iRO, you only lose 5 pages instead)
    • You will automatically fail and discard the pages if he manages to restore a volume of the report you already have in your inventory. As such, you should put completed volumes in Storage (Cart if you're Merchant/Super Novice Class) or have a partner hold the volumes until you are done speaking with him. The extra volumes of the report can be sold or given to other players doing the quest.
    • TIP - You are able to Store/Trade/Buy and Vend the individual Report Volumes.
  9. Return to Abidail when you have all 4 volumes, ask for the second selection requesting a progress report, and he will recognize all 4 volumes and bind them together.
  10. Speak to Hibba Agip and he will make copies of the report for you. You will now have three copies given to you of the final report. He instructs you to follow the plan as before, except that you will now deliver the reports instead of his soldiers; he has stationed more soldiers in the area to protect you.
  11. Deliver a report to Laur in the throne room of Prontera Castle (prt_castle 88,165) (third room straight from the front entrance, Laur looks like a "butler" character).
  12. Deliver a report to Nuria outside Rachel's temple (ra_temple 122, 174) (standing directly in front of the actual Rachel temple entrance, older woman).
  13. Deliver a report to Gerhart at the front desk, inside Rekenber Corporation's Headquarters (lhz_in01 110, 174) (large building in top left of Lighthalzen, older man standing in front of the front desk).
  14. Return to Hibba Agip, he thanks you for your help

  5. Return to Ryosen, he directs you to return to the United Research Official.
  6. The United Research Official asks you to check on each of the researchers to make sure they're preparing for their meeting.
  7. Speak to Ryosen, he asks you to retrieve a document from Hansenne.
  8. Hansenne tells you he lost the document while playing on the west bridge. He suggests you go fishing.
  9. Take the west bridge and go to ([5] 69, 134), where you will find a School of Fish in the water. Attempt to fish until you retrieve aMessy File.
  10. Return to Hansenne, who tells you to take the document to Hue to restore it.
  11. Hue requires 1 Folding Fan of Cat Ghost, 1 Flame Stone, 1 Old Frying Pan, 1 Squid Ink to restore the document.
  12. After giving him the items, he restores the document and gives you a Neat Report.
  13. Return the document to Ryosen, who then asks you to go the Official to wait for the meeting to start.
  14. Walk up to the Official, and the meeting begins. The three researchers give their reports, but the meeting is interrupted by the appearance of Thief Bugs, and everyone (including yourself) leaves the room.
  15. Reenter the building and kill all of the Thief Bugs, after which the others reappear.
  16. Walk over to the Official, and the "meeting" resumes, whereupon Ryosen accuses the rest of tampering with his precious Cake, and an argument ensues, until the Official finally tells everyone to call it a day.
  17. Walk back again towards the Official, where you explain that you know Hansenne wasn't the tamperer, although he took the blame for it.
  18. Talk to Hansenne, and he gives you a Arunafeltz Desert Sandwich in appreciation for your caring. He suggests you help Ryosen and Hue get along better.
  19. Talk to Hue, who asks you to take the Rune Midgard report to Ryosen, and gives you a Schwartzwald Pine Jubilee in thanks.
  20. Hand the report to Ryosen, who realizes he should've thanked Hue earlier, and asks you to set up another meeting with the Official. He gives you a piece of Rune Strawberry Cake in appreciation.
  21. Talk to the Official, who thanks you for all the work you've done, and gives you a First Aid Kit.

Pursuing Rayan Moore

  1. Talk to Echinacea (mid_camp 215, 247 -> mid_campin 86, 138 -> mid_campin 68,185), and she asks you to go help Kidd.
  2. Kidd (mid_camp 199, 311) tells you that he hasn't received any communications from the Old World in some time, and he asks you to find Rin in the secret Assassin Pub in southwest Morroc.
  3. Talk to the Bar Manager in the secret pub, and ask about a mission. He tells you Rin is in the back room resting.
  4. Enter the back room, and go into the room to the south. Speak to Rin (que_job01 84, 17), and offer to help her. She will ask you to investigate the area where she was ambushed.
  5. Speak to the pile of dirt at (hu_fild04 235, 103), and investigate it closely. You will receive a Crystal of Feardom.
  6. Return to Rin with the Crystal, she will give you a report to take to Kidd along with the crystal.
  7. Deliver the Crystal and Journal to Kidd, he will ask you to come back later.
  8. Speak to Kidd and you will feel the urge to touch the crystal.
  9. After a short dialogue, you will start to battle several Dandelion Members.
    • There is a time limit on this battle.
  10. After dispatching them, speak to the corpse (que_dan01 49, 36), and search his pockets. You will obtain a Sealed Scroll.
  11. Speak to Kidd regarding what you saw after touching the crystal.
  12. Kidd asks you to get Echinacea's opinion about which scholar to consult regarding the scroll.
  13. Speak to Echinacea and she will direct you to Defaria.
  14. Defaria (mid_camp 256, 272) tells you the scroll is from Arunafeltz, and asks you to collect some items to unseal it.
  15. After bringing 30 Rune of Darkness, 30 Bloody Rune, and 30 Holy Water, Defaria will give you an Unsealed Magic Scroll.
  16. Consult with Kidd, he reminds you that your are his assistant and he tells you to use the scroll to go to the meeting. Double click the Unsealed Magic Scroll to use it, you will be warped to (yuno_fild09 255, 127).
  17. Walk up the hill and go into the building (yuno_fild09 234, 133). Walk behind the curtain at the back of the building. After some conversation, you will be returned to your save point.
  18. Talk to Kidd, he asks you to listen in some more. Return to the house and enter the basement.
  19. Speak with the man (que_dan02 115, 53) at the back of the basement. Kidd will appear and arrest him.
  20. Return to Kidd in the new world, he gives you a journal to take back to Rin.
  21. Return to Rin, after some conversation you accidentally drop the Crystal and Rayan uses it to escape. Rin gives you a tracking number that can be used to find Rayan and asks you to go see Echinacea.
  22. Speak with Echinacea, she asks for the tracking number (i got the number SDHF92F-SDF) and explains how it works.
  23. Speak with her again and she tells you to check with building manager at the south end of the camp.
  24. Talk to the Manager (mid_camp 191, 206), he tells you that he can not locate the target, but that Rayan must still be alive.
  25. Return to Echinacea to report the results. She thanks you for your help and rewards you.
  26. There is a wrap-up portion of the quest which you can complete by talking to Echinacea, which requires 20 Potatoes and 30 logs. Completing these additional steps rewards the player with 5 Sweet Potatoes (Smokie taming item). To continue with this part of the quest you need to talk with Defaria and type "Dandelion" in the input box.

Attitude to the New World

  1. Speak to Rumis Block ([1] 188, 254), he tells you he hates the New World and loathes his job.
  2. Speak to Camp Guard ([2] 336,171). You must not be helping Diego with the posts or delivering the final packing in the New Surroundings quest. Go and kill a Nephentes and bring back aStrong Vine to help Rumis realize these monsters aren't so scary.
    • Note: if you have other quests that require trips into the New World Maps, you will need to finish those first.
  3. Return to Rumis Block with 1 Strong Vine, he thanks you and asks for further help. He needs some supplies to prepare aNephentes specimen.
  4. Rumis asks you to deliver his specimen to his brother Terris Block ([3] 240, 270).
  5. After some conversation, Terris asks you to talk to 30 or so of the pretty girls to the west.
  6. Once the Pinguicula have been dispatched, Terris tells you that Cornus have been destroying his climate monitors. Has asks to to teach them a lesson.
  7. Return to Terris, He tells you he suspects the land to the west is cultivated. He hands you a Decaying Stem and asks you to meet him near the mushroom west of the bridge.
  8. Walk over the end of the bridge and he will appear. Talk to him and plant the Decaying Stem in the dirt ([4] 52, 148).
  9. After the Sprout comes to life talk to Terris again. Terris asks you to inform Rumis of his success.
  10. Rumis has already heard, and strives to make his own discovery. Rumis asks you to meet him at the end of the east bridge to escort him to study a one of the new species.
  11. Walk past ([5] 55, 259), and Rumis tells you to head towards the tree slightly southeast.
  12. Talk to the Frozen Tree ([6] 92, 229), Rumis climbed the tree because monsters were looking at him. He asks you to hunt 20 Horn of Hillslion.

  13. Return to the tree with 20 horn. Rumis sees nothing particularly interesting about them, but he has gained the confidence to come to his tree alone next time. He asks you to talk to him back at the camp.
  14. Rumis heard about someone being attacked to the east, he asks you to go investigate if the natives are hostile.
  15. Return to Rumis, he thanks your for your help.
    • This marks the end of the displayed quests, and you gain 100,000 Base EXP.
  16. Additionally if you bring Rumis one Horn of Tendrilion you will gain 50,000 more Base EXP. This marks the end of this quest.
    • Note: This last step needs to be completed if you are using this quest as one of your pre-requisites to Report from the New World.
